Water scarcity is a huge problem all mankind is facing. Purity in water has lost its meaning and almost water on the entire of earth is already contaminated.

Drinking good water is important for your health.

Know Your Filtration System
There are different types of processes in the market. Always understand how do they work before investing in the right one. Some processes include, reverse osmosis, ultra violet technology, distillation, multi filtering processing, activated carbon filtration and ceramic filtration technology.

Accreditation & Country of Origin
Always check if the product is accredited by international or local organizations. A product that has accreditation from test facilities that has high standards for the purifiers can be considered the best product. Also, check the country of origin of the product and the number of years the manufacturer’s technology has been in the market.

Low Maintenance Cost
Always check if the cost of maintaining a system is affordable for you. It is not logical to pay a high price for the system and ended up incurring high maintenance cost just to change the filters every 3-6 months. Find a system that believes in long term maintenance and helps you to breakeven after 3-4 years. To some extent, quality comes with price. Do not go for low end filters since many of them may work for the first year and performance may deteriorate after subsequent years.

Value added Service
Buying a water filter is for a long term basis. Therefore, always check if the company offers you value added services such as maintenance packages and replacements once your filters needs replacement. Always buy from a reliable company with long history in the industry that you can trust. The product origin is also one of the important factors you should consider.

Reusability
Some filters elements can be reused and easy to maintain. All you need to do is to clean it every three to six months and you can lengthen its life span to a few years longer. The extended life also lowers the cost of replacement in the long run.

Retained Essential Minerals
We believes in natural tasting water with retained minerals in the water’s original state with no artificial input of minerals. The retention of minerals is for easy absorption for the body.

Power Saving

Getting a water filtration system should be for long term usage. It is always important to consider if its affordable and logical to leave your power supply running continuously. Always do a check on the number of appliances in your home that requires continuous power supply, such as fridge, hot water dispenser, dehumidifier, air purifier, fax machine & cordless phone. Save power, save our environment!

Space Saving
In recent years, the kitchen sizes are getting smaller with more housing development. Since the filter needs to be installed in your kitchen for long term usage, you also need to assess if its portable and compact enough to fit on your counter top. Some filters are compact enough to install on the wall above your sink or even a hid away spot under your sink.

Healthy living starts with quality drinking water. Scientific studies show that adult should drink 2 Liters of water every day – not including any soft drinks, juices, tea or coffee. Lack of water can lead to dehydration, a condition that occurs when you don’t have enough water in your body to carry on normal functions. Dehydration poses a particular health risk for the very young and the very old.

These are some of the findings from USA studies about water;

75 % of the people are chronically dehydrated.

One glass of water will shut down midnight hunger pangs for almost 100% of the dieters.

Lack of water is the No.1 trigger of daytime fatigue.

A mere 2% drop in body water can trigger fuzzy short-term memory, trouble with basic mathematics, and difficulty focusing on the computer screen or a printed page.

Drinking 5 glasses of water daily decreases the risk of colon cancer by 45. It can slash the risk of breast cancer by 79%, and reduce the risk of developing bladder cancer by 50%.

80% of diseases are due to bad drinking water.The studies also show that Water brings benefits such as;

Provides oxygen and nutrients to different part of the body.

Flushes out toxins in our body.

Strengthens our immune system

Better digestion, less constipation

Smoother skin

Better sleep

There is often a misconception among city dwellers that the installation of a household water filter is unnecessary. Surely our water is safe for consumption? This may be relatively true for urban cities such as Singapore.

However, chemicals including chloride & sulphate are still present in our drinking water. According to PUB, water from Choa Chu Kang and Bedok Waterworks has an average of 35 to 100 mg/L of Chloride and 30 to 60 mg/L of Sulphate.

Chlorine is a sanitizer required for water treatment, but may present a strong odour, cause skin allergies or dry our hair. These potential side effects can be eliminated by using a ceramic household water filtration system such as those from Swiss made Swisspro.

“What is so unique about ceramic filters?” you may ask. Mother Nature often has raw materials that we could use for everyday needs without breaking our banks, and ceramic is one such example.

With a modest appearance, it has been used for storage of water and building of water pipes since ancient civilization in Greece. Swisspro adopts this age-old wisdom to formulate a ceramic filtration technology adaptable to modern day consumer lifestyle.

Ceramic filters found in all Swisspro systems are made from 2 types of diatomaceous earth, different China clays and silver. Silver releases small quantities of positively charged ions to destroy microorganisms, inhibit enzyme growth, kill bacteria and prevent recontamination.

While colour of ceramic might vary slightly, performance is never compromised. No chemicals are added to this all-natural composition.

Cysts compounds, which measure approximately 2 to 6 micron, are particularly resistant to chlorine, freezing, heating, abrasion and ultraviolet light. Swisspro’s unique 0.2 micron silver incorporated ceramic filter is therefore the perfect health partner to trap suspended matter, cysts and harmful bacteria as small as 0.2 micron from your drinking water.

Good for daily family uses, Swisspro highly recommends Swisspro SMART and Swisspro TOP, a premium range of filters that use a 3-step technology to purify household tap water effectively.

CleanSwiss is the preliminary filter in Swisspro SMART and Swisspro TOP systems. It acts as the first line of defence by filtering out suspended solids like rust and sand particles before water passes through the second filter called CarboSwiss. This is where chlorine, odours and chemical traces will be removed. Before you gain access to the water, it goes through the final filter called CeraSwiss, a ceramic filtration technology which removes more than 99.99% of microorganisms and health threatening bacteria invisible to the naked eye. Swisspro uses silver coated quartzstones and silver incorporated ceramic which can kill away any airborne bacteria in the tap especially when the tap is unused for a period of time.

With such a comprehensive purifying system, you can be sure that you are enhancing your drinking experience with safe, clean and pure tasting water. What’s more, ceramic is a natural, reusable and cleanable material. You would be glad to know that you are contributing to the earth’s well-being by using a durable and biodegradable product.

Everyone deserves healthy, natural and fresh tasting water to drink. Ceramics is a good filter by nature and provides cooling effect to the water while maintaining its natural taste. Investing in a chemical-free ceramic water filtration system today might be one of the best gifts you could give to yourself and your families to bring you a long way.

Global warming is on the rise. According to the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States, 2009 was one of the warmest years ever recorded globally.

In Singapore, February 2010 saw its hottest and driest month in 140 years since 1869, with temperature soaring to 35 degree Celsius. Not far off in India, Delhi recorded a maximum temperature of 41.6 degree Celsius in April 2010.

Intense rainfall and storms began hitting Singapore since June, way before the usual monsoon season. PUB announced that “the amount of rainfall is approximately more than 60 per cent of the average monthly rainfall for June”.

Flash floods followed, causing costly damages and inconveniences to transportations, businesses and housing estates.

Is there anything we can do to save our earth in face of such unpredictable shifts in weather pattern? You have probably heard of the “Bring Your Own Bag Day” campaign.

First launched in April 2007, it is an on-going effort introduced by the National Environmental Agency to encourage shoppers swap plastic bags for reusable bags at supermarkets.

Excessive use of plastic products not only exhausts earth’s natural resources but also contributes to the severe climatic effects that are directly affecting our lives today.

On the same note, have you ever considered ditching disposable plastic bottles and carrying your own bottled water instead?

The truth is, environmental pollution does not come from dumping bottles alone; negative impacts are already present from the stage of bottling and shipping drinking waters even before they reach the shelves of your nearest supermarkets and grocery stores.

Production of plastic bottles and plastic wraps require the burning of fuel fuels. Such acts generate air, water and land pollution, which in turn create human illnesses due to the release of poisonous gases into the atmosphere.

Consumers unknowingly participate in speeding up global warming and harming life forms on earth just through frequent use of disposable bottled water.

In 2006 alone, four billion gallons of plastic bottled water were consumed by Americans. The Earth Policy Institute estimated that 1.5 million barrels of oil were used to make those bottles – and we have not added in the amount of fuels used to ship them around the world.

Here’s the catch – plastic bottled water is often marketed in chic or even “limited edition” packaging. “Sparkling”, “natural” and “pure” are some fancy terms used to entice consumers.

Tagged with an affordable price, it impresses upon consumers as the trendy and convenient way to drink premium quality water. Even though plastics are considered recyclable material, recycling efforts are voluntary. This means the plastic bottles you dispose could be dumped in landfills, with harmful gases being released much faster than the bottles could disintegrate.

In fact, there are more eco-friendly ways to create your own “Swiss Alps Spring Water” at home. One method is to invest in a water filtration system with biodegradable components such as the Swisspro SMART.

Designed to filter harmful impurities while retaining essential minerals and great taste, you could prepare bottled water for your family before heading out for outdoor activity in the park instead of purchasing from stores. If you are an avid adventure seeker or backpacker, consider using a portable sports bottle with water purification function.

Filtered water is the highly recommended alternative to bottled water. It not only allows you to play your part in preserving the earth, but also saves you more money per year and still provides you with clean, healthy water.

As an informed consumer, bring not just your own bag on the next shopping trip. Bring your own bottle too.

“I am a coffee (or tea) addict; I must have a few cups a day.”

“I am so busy in office that I forget to drink water!”

“I prefer a sports drink after every workout. It makes me feel good.”

“Singapore weather is much too hot! I will choose iced flavored beverages anytime.”

“Water is bland. My children rather have an ice-cream.”

While it is perfectly fine to enjoy beverages and desserts other than water, we must bear in mind that 75 per cent of our bodies are made up of water. Satisfy your taste buds, but do not neglect your body’s craving for water which is the key to good health. Habitually substituting water with desserts and other forms of beverage consumption will expose your bodies to risk of dehydration. Although they certainly taste more appealing, they come with high sugar, salt or fat contents. Without sufficient amount of water to dilute fatty intakes or help intestine detox and maintain healthy bowel movement, our blood vessels may suffer from clogging. Cultivating appropriate water drinking habits is vital to body wellness.

In comparison to adults, children are more sustainable to dehydration. Parents must note that once children are dehydrated, their body temperatures will rise quickly. At a stage where they are physically active and the body still growing, educating your child to acquire a taste for water from young can help prevent heat stroke and common illnesses such as flu and fever which, when serious, can damage their young organs.

Adults lose an average of 3 litres of water a day at rest, during activity, through sweating and breathing. Drinking at least 1.8 litres of water daily can replenish water loss. If you experience signs of irritability, fatigue, dry mouth, constipation, headache, heatiness or dry skin, it is possible that you are dehydrating. If you are an active individual or involved in strenuous physical work day-to-day, you would definitely need more than the minimum required amount of water consumption to maintain functionality and energy level.

Knowing how to enjoy natural drinking water is as essential as knowing about the importance of fluid. Swisspro, a Swiss-made filtration system has the solution to obtaining uncompromised Swiss natural water by removing 99.9% of microorganism and bacterial without eliminating essential minerals required by your body.

Swisspro SMART

Swisspro filters are manufactured in Switzerland by Swiss company with 80 years of experience and its products are widely used by global organizations such as The United Nations, International Red Cross and all major Armed Forces.

Here’s an important tip to note while drinking water – do not drink in a rush or in big gulps; it is as good as not having drank any water at all! Your kidney will pump up the frequency of urination and prevent water from being transported to various parts of the body; not to mention the side effect of feeling bloated. Water is best absorbed by the body when it is consumed in gradual sips. So enjoy a glass a refreshing water slowly!

Look no further; water may be your most economic way to beauty after all. As you may already know, water makes up three quarters of your total body mass and substance. It is an essential element for your body organs …

Look no further; water may be your most economic way to beauty after all.

As you may already know, water makes up three quarters of your total body mass and substance. It is an essential element for your body organs to function. Every day, your body loses an average of 2.5 litres of water including the hours which you spend sleeping; taking at least 2 litres of water per day is crucial to replenishing the nutrients your body most crave for. If you drink up only when you feel thirsty, there is likelihood that you are already experiencing dehydration.

A beautiful you begin with a healthy internal environment. Water is the important agent in promoting digestion and flushing out toxins from your body. By hydrating the intestinal canal and breaking down food properly, there will be less build up of harmful substances in your body. The benefits you gain? No constipation and no greasy dull spots on your skin which are reflections of unhealthy intestinal conditions.

Dehydration can result in increase of body fats. The next time you want to reach for a diet pill, why not reach for a bottle of water instead? When you drink enough water, your body will have less craving for snacks and allow food that you consume to flow smoothly through intestines. This helps metabolize body fats and reduce the calories which you will absorb. Most importantly, no side effects!

Dermatologists have long highlighted the importance of consuming enough water for your skin cells which are almost entirely made up of water. Howard Murad from Los Angeles says, “Eighty percent of hydration should come from internal sources.” Besides eating sufficient portions of fruits and vegetables daily, drinking water enables oxygen to be rapidly supplied through blood flowing to your body organs, rejuvenating your cells to give the skin a healthy glow. Wrinkles are in fact a sign of dry skin caused by loss of moisture.

Drinking quality water is as important as drinking enough water. While Singapore’s water is generally safe to be consumed from the tap, a water filtration system enhances your drinking experience by removing impurities yet retaining water’s essential minerals. With no boiling or electricity involved, you can have access to great tasting purified water from your tap anytime you like to create a pure body and complexion.

So make drinking water part of your beauty regime today. Try taking sips regularly throughout the day to keep your skin and body nourished. It will not be long before your body feels the difference!
